Did accidental dumpof 10g of rodi cause long term problems?
About a month ago I stupidly raised my ATO reservoir and pretty quickly got an alert from my APEX- 10 gallons of RODI siphoned into my 125g tank + 60g sump. I took some out and added a strong mix of salt and got he salinity back to 1.024.
I have had some issues lately with my SPS and some others such as 2 large colonies of Candy Cane slowly dying and 2 different large frags of Hollywood Stunner turning completely white. Could that fast change in chemistry have done more damage than I thought and could it have killed off certain zooanxthea (Pardon my spelling) starving the corals? |

Short answer - possibly.
Salinity can be dropped rapidly without a problem. Raising it however has to be done SLOWLY.
