Does coralline build up inside UV sterilizer

Hey guys, I have a UV sterilizer that I'm running 24/7, it really made my water crystal clear, so I'm planning on having it running at all times. The question is, would coralline algae build up on the bulb housing and block the light? Or does the UV light actually kills coralline algae so it wouldn't grow on the housing?

nothing is living in the UV as long as the bulb is still operating at a high level.

Coralline would scorch and die.

BUT - there is accumulation of detritus as well as calcium deposition due to abiotic processes (like around heaters and in pumps).

It still requires maintenance just like anything else that has water running through it.

Agreed. I have to clean the quartz sleeve on mine of calcium deposits every few months.
