Im looking to add a few fish...what to get?

Im looking or hoping to add a few fish over the next few months, no rush, but would like to. My tank and system stats are in my signature, I have about 130gals total in the system.

Current stock:
2 - Clownfish
3 - Yellow tail damsels
1 - Green spotted mandarin
1 - Brittle star
Misc clean up crew

I have about 2" of sand throughout the tank. Any ideas of what I can or should get. First and foremost nothing that will out compete my mandarin for food.

Thanks

If my math is correct, your display is about 94 gal.

I'll start with the obvious: dwarf angel (I like flames) and a basslett( I like blackcaps)

If you have lps don't get a dwarf angel because they will eat it and I wouldn't get a black cap with a mandarin because they can be aggressive and territorial

I have a little of everything in my mixed reef. Thanks for the heads up.

I respectfully disagree with you on both of these statements.

IME, basslets hover in their cave waiting for food, and shouldn't compete with the mandarin for pods, nor are they terribly aggressive.

I've also kept two different flame angels for several years at a time with lps. Although I did have to sell my beautiful kole tang because he was eating my candycanes. So maybe I have strange luck.

Size wise, yes. Water volume, no, because of displacement.

Not only expensive, but I'm afraid my small tank isn't right for a tang of any sort.

I'm afraid a wrasse would out compete the mandarin for food.

Why don't you get a ruby red dragonette they are very similar care to mandarins but are easy to train Onto prepared food so it shouldn't over use the pod population

Your 3 foot 90+ gallon tank is definitely large enough for tangs in the bristletooth family.

Disagree with respect to tangs in the bristletooth family. They stay relatively smaller and are not as active swimmers as most other tangs. A 75 gal tank is sufficient.

Pod hunters like mandies and scooters will war to the death over food/ pod availability. Regardless of whether or not they take frozen.

Nothing tempts fish like live food.
