Planning new reef setup. Opinions wanted!
Hey guys, been out of the hobby for a while and an unplanned trip to a LFS around my area to get a better filter for my beta tank caused me to drool over their frag tank and here goes the addiction again! My wife is already looking for a second job in advance hehe.
In all seriousness I would like to do a nano build and I am sort of torn on which way to go. I always wanted a Bio Cube back in the day never got around to getting one. Is it still a viable option or should I look at other systems or tanks? AIO style always appealed to me for some reason. Just wanted to get your guys input on tanks. Local LFS has bio cube 14gal for 330$ with stand and 29gal for 500$ with stand. Max Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Biocubes are still viable. If you want SPS you may need to upgrade the lighting, but for softie/lps tanks they are fine right out of the box.
Innovative Marine is making some really nice all in one tanks these days that are a significant departure from biocubes in their design. Much more modern, open topped, LED lighting etc.

Yeah I was looking at innovative marine too. A little pricy however but I really like the way those look too. Ugh so torn...

Just go to Bulk Reef Supply or The Filter Guys and get a decent 4 or 5 stage RO unit from them. They are all relatively decent setups from those companies.

I have a biocube and love it. I pulled the lights and did a diy led setup since I was keeping a clan and acros. I have nothing but good things to say about them

Hi Gallegos. Other than the lights did you have to modify anything else? What size is yours? Do you use an ATO in there?
