Newbie with a 40 reader build
Been saving up little by little gathering up the supplies I need to build my 40 breeder reef tank. Getting super excited almost have everything to get started. As of now I have.
40g breeder with holes drilled for the Overflow and return 20g sump Reef Octopus nwb 110 Jebao DC 1200 return pump with controller Digital thermometer Marino and maxi jet 900(will upgread) 1200 GPH overflow box Aquasky LED global 3000-25000k 27watts Heater Hydrometer 20 dry rock(Will order more end of the month) 2 bags of live sand Red sea reef foundation pro and marine care test kits. And got my ro/di yesterday |

Looking good!
I'd ditch the hydrometer and get a refractometer ($20 on ebay). It's much more accurate. |

Great start! I agree get yourself a refractometer, hydrometers are never accurate from my experience

IME Jebao pumps are hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you don't. As a return pump, if it were me, I would have a backup pump on hand just in case.
