Flow in a 8 gal nano tank

Hi, I'm relatively new to reef tanks and had a question about my flow.

I have an 8 gal Eclipse aquarium and upgraded the pump to a 251 sicce nano. Is that too much flow if I want soft corals? I have a Xenia in there right now and having a hard time placing it in a lower flow area. Is there a way I could angle to outflow to make it less turbulent? Should I just buy a smaller pump or is that amount of flow okay for my aquarium?
Thanks (:
