Most oddball fish will eat your fish and nip at corals. A few exeptions would be gobies and blennies.

Tonight at the LFS, I was checking out a nice healthy Comet/Marine Betta. One of the coolest looking fishes in the sea IMO.

It's a visual puzzle just to look at. Impressive but stealthy. Totally unique camouflage like a whale shark, but with some patches of bright coloration. A confident fish that bothers no one, and no one bithers him. Bold presesence but not aggressive (but may eat tiny fish in rare cases and some small shrimp), but otherwise said to be reef safe. Considered quite hardy & long lived. No reports of any problems with corals that I've ever seen. Graceful and mellow but said to be cryptic sometimes but gets out more in good time. And it's a member of the grouper family - how cookie that - but is OK in a medium sized tank since they're slow, purposeful swimmers. Their movements are so cool.

I'd buy this fish in a minute but I'm just afraid it could eventually eat my tiny yellow Okinawa Goby. It's the ultimate odd ball fish in my opinion.
