Unidentified white clumps
My power filter has had white sponges on it for quite a while. But these new white raised circles are everywhere. Are these the beginning of new sponges or something else?
I have trouble posting ny pictures cause they come out sideways. This one should be of the back of the power filter. |

I cannot really tell from your pictures, the white spots look like sand to me but tunicates are common in aquariums but I have never seen them out in the open in high light areas.

Look at them really closely.....Do they look like snail shells?
If so, they are probably Spirorbid worms, and they are fine. Spirorbid worms are filter feeders, and they like to set-up shop in high water flow areas. My overflow box is covered in them. HTH!
