Brute Trashcan Algae Bloom?

So I was using just a 10 gallon square tote to mix my saltwater. Last week I decided to upgrade to a 20gal brute trashcan. Now ive noticed everytime I do a water change I get an almost instant algae bloom. I usually do water changes at night before I go to bed one gallon every 2 days for my 10 gallon nano. Ive started noticing than by the time I lie down on my bed theres a green haze in my tank. Its full of algae!!! The only thing ive changed is the saltwater container ive been using.

Ive read a lot of people using these brute cans so I bought it, but its been giving me nothing but a green tank for days now :/

Whats wrong? Should I swap for another brute? or maybe ill just og back to my tote?

Using tap water or RO/DI water? If RO/DI, what's your TDS coming out?

If you think it's coming from the can, clean it with bleach or vinegar, rinse it and dry it completely. The same with whatever else touches it..... Heater, power head....etc.

If all of this is optimal and you still notice this happening, then I would put a UV on the tank to kill off the algae bloom (green water). Proper size UV unit will clearify the water. At the same time run some GAC.
