Controllable Powerhead to replace Aqua Clear as return pump for 20 gallon tank?

Hi, I currently have a 20 gallon reef tank in which I'm using an Aqua Clear 20 for returning the water from my back sump/refugium, the problem that I'm having is that I have to change the water flow but with this unit I have to do it manually (mechanically) so I'm wondering if there's a tiny powerhead that can be used as return pump but controllable with some sorts of knobs of anything that doesn't needs to put my hands in the water.

Ball valve or gate valve on pump output tube.

Do you think I can have them for my tiny setup?

if so where can I look online for this two types of valves?

Hardware store might have the plastic ones you would use...1/2" or 3/4"

Yeah, after you gave me the idea I got one from my hardware store, is for 1/2" and it is working and thanks to you it's working as I was looking for.
