Help with chiller
Hi all
I just picked up a used west coast 1/5 hp chiller but it has no instructions. Any idea what the flow should be?it will be going on a 300 gallon Right now the tank is running about 82 so I got this to get temp done and keep it stable be fore adding any corals Thanks

I would recommend 200-400gph. A chiller that size is usually recommended for aquariums of about half the size of yours. I would recommend 1/2hp at least for a 300gal aquarium.

Agreed, I had a 1/4 HP on a 220, ran for some time to cool down.

I use a 1/4 hp chiller on my 150. When it kicks on, it takes a good 30-40 minutes before it cycles off.
That 1/5 hp chiller will only be useful if you only need a 2-3 degree pull down, and I imagine it'll take a while. |

Keep in mind the distance of your tube, as powerhead lose gph when it travel longer...
