Formula: (wife thinks I spent) x 4 + 1000 = actual amount

Build spreadsheet

About $920 so far (I haven't updated to reflect my latest coral purchases). I'm a little over 2 months in.

I would say a good portion of mine was buying cheap and having to rebuy. Then there was the need the latest and greatest phase.

I've actually been keeping track (somewhat) because I always heard how expensive aquariums are growing up.

I've had my 29G Biocube a little over one year and so far I've totaled just over $1600. That's missing maybe $50-$75 of water, filter pads, and chemi-pure.

if told told the truth I might be on the first step of one of those 12 step programs. I'm not ready to admit I have a problem!

I ran out of money. I have been forced to prostitute myself. And apparently there is not that much interest in a middle aged balding guy who likes fish.....

I hate to admit it but over the course of ten years I probably spent somewhere around $15,000-$20,000 over the course of 9 different reef tanks.

Well over $10k and nothing to show for it. This is a very expensive hobby. And when you run out of funds in the bank you go get a loan. :P I love doing this, but the price of corals really needs to come down so I could buy more.
