GHL DOSER 2 or DOS?
I currently have a couple BRS dosing pumps, but I'm having an issue with accuracy. Mostly alk readings fluctuating. I've noticed air trapped in the line and I've cleaned and checked the pump. So it seems to pump different amounts. I have an apex, so the integration of the DOS isn't an issue, but dosing accurately is paramount. I'm also considering the ghl doser2 (3 or 4) pump that has Wi-Fi.
I'm dosing 2 part and mg. I could use the DOS for alk and ca, brs for mg or just use the ghl for everything? For those of you who own these pumps, let me know your thoughts and experiences. With respect, please keep your comments and suggestions to these two pumps. Thanks for reading and taking the time. |

I have the GHL and it's been great. Real easy to use.
Calibration of each pump is a snap. Other than when calibrating it, I've never heard it running, so it's very quiet. It's very accurate. It can dose down to .1 ml which has been nice. I just noticed a slight decrease in my Alk when I tested this morning, so I ramped it up .1 ml per dose after I got to my office via MyGHL. Programming online via MyGHL is simple and quick. I upped my dosage from my office this morning. And it keeps track of how much is left in my dosing containers so I'll get a notification when it gets down to 10%. You can also hook up two level sensors, a temp sensor and magnetic stirrers. I'd definitely recommend it. Plus, you just can't go wrong with GHL in general. Everything they make is top notch. I don't have experience with the DOS, but it's huge for only two pumps and I keep hearing that it's pretty loud. Personally, I'd rather get one doser that could do it all.

Thanks! I've been leaning heavily towards the ghl. I like the size and the ability to adjust remotely. I can't decide between the 3 or 4 pump model? Something tells me to get the 4 because I'll probably find a use for it. That and there's only a $60 difference between them. The DOS looks nice, but that thing is huge and I don't have that much room right now.

GHL doser 2 without a doubt. The quality of the unit is fantastic and accuracy is spot on. As Dennis already noted, it can do more than dose also and is easily accessible over myGHL.
Should you decide to get a 3 pump model then later decide you need a 4th pump, the upgrade is easily done by you and is plug and play.

Both can be adjust remotely.
But the GHL Doser 2 is more bang for your buck. |

I have the doser 1 instead of the doser 2. I guarantee you will find a use for the 4th head. I started with the 4 head and now have two 4 head units and a 3 head unit(not in service yet. I got lucky on a used one at a bargain price).
I use mine for daily water changes, carbon dosing, kalc reactor, Calcium reactor and will be adding element dosing in the near future.

Thanks everyone! I've always been one to trust my instincts, but wanted to see what the community had to say. GHL it is. Time to pony up the dough.
Thanks again! |

Can you use the dos reservoirs without the pumps? It would be cool to have the ability to see the amount of additive you have.

excompany, no there is no 1/4" tubing supplied with the doser. Since everybody has needs for different lengths tubing, GHL leaves it up to you to buy the exact lengths you need.

But it does come with the the little plastic nipples and a short bit of medical grade tubing attached to the pumps.
So all you need is the tubing to run from the pumps to your containers.

The GHL lets you do that with any container.
Calibrate the pumps, input the volume of your containers, and how filled they are currently.(100%). As your doser doses, it does the math and tells you how much remains.
