Battery backup - icecap or coralbox?

I have a Jebao Dcs-7000 return pump and a cp40 Crossflow. Does anyone use either of these battery backup options? Price is about the same. Cant find any tech details to know if there are different at all. I read one review in the coralbox that said you have to manually push a button to work for Dcs pumps but that sounds odd.

CORALBOX POWERCELL FOR JEBAO BATTERY PUMP / DC PUMP

Icecap

I had a thought that they might just be repackaged. Anyone use one with a Dcs pump?

Yes they are literally the same. Under the Icecap sticker on the front you can see the "Aquarium Pump Extender" sticker. I'd buy the Icecap though just because you then get Coralvue support which is pretty good. The price is the same.

I would just buy a motorcycle battery, battery tender and build your own cables

That is an option and works well. The Icecap/Jebao though is very compact, and clean. It was much easier for me stash that in my small electronics area since it has a nice pre-built enclosure with connectors and a compact charger. Just plug it in and go.

Whatever works for your situation though. The Diy way you have the option to swap in more batteries if needed which is nice.

Will the Tunze safety connector work on these? I think the Tunze has the larger plug than the eco tech style.

Will the Icecap take over automatically for a DC pump in a power outage? The BRS description says "if using a Gyre..."
I want to use this for a Jebao DC 6000.

Both the Icecap and Coral Box battery backup will not work on any of the Jebao/Jecod DCT or DCS pumps unless you replace the controller with Coral Box's AquaLink T1 wifi controller.
An added cost that might or might not be worth it for the return pump IMO.
