How to increase salinity?
Hey Reefers,
How would I go about increasing salinity? I'm at 1.023-024 and would like to get it to 1.025-026. I'm due for a water change so would this be the right time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would use freshly made SW @ 1.026 as top off until you get to your goal, then go back to plain RO/DI water.

You are still cycling too so there is really no harm in just dumping some salt right into the tank as there is nothing in there..
But yes the above answers are the typical way when you have stuff in your tank already..

I personally would just do a 10% WC with 1.027. I've done this numerous times now. If it's only one or two points, it won't matter much.

I would just let it be. IME, it will creep up a bit over time anyway. I use water change day to re-adjust it to where I want it. And fwiw - I try to keep it at 1.024 ish so that if it does creep up a bit it doesn't get too high.
