Reeflink - should i buy it?
I have an mp40w, two mp10w's and 1 radion, soon to be two radions on a new 75gallon tank. Is it worth it? I would like to control the flow better with all the pump and lighting cycles etc. Anyone have any pros or cons that have used this? Love it, hate it?

Go to the Ecotech forum (here in RC) and you will see that owners of the Reeflink are having a number of problems with this product. I've had mine replaced twice and it is just not dependable IMO. If you own a controller (Neptune Systems, Profilux etc) I would link those components you mention to them.

I did see that people were having some issues, but i was hoping it was not everyone and just few and far between. I really like having the interface and display that it provides, but i do not want instability. How hard is it to setup another controller and what do i lose from using something else?

If you connect the reeflink to your router using a cat 5 cable. An not use the wifi you should be good. Once I connected to the router I have not lost the Internet connection.

Only trouble I've ever had was initial install. Since then all is well. I power cycle my router and modem often and the reef link always comes back up on it's own along with everything else. If you're not ready to invest in a controller, I'd say the $100 investment is a no brainer.

My Reeflink is wired in. Over the last year, there were a couple of times when I couldn't connect through the app, but the issue corrected itself in short order.
I think you'll be quite happy with it.

Welp i got it, set it up, got frustrated a little bit because my pumps were not upgrading the firmware. The instructions could be a little clearer. Figured that out and wallah! Works like a charm and i am on wireless.

Ah, yes. The instructions (and process) to upgrade aren't great. I forgot about that. I had a tough time figuring out whether the pumps were on the newest firmware, as I was not able to confirm the current firmware on their website. That aside, everything is working fine for me.
Glad to read that you are happy with it.

Best thing is you can have multiple devices on multiple tanks. I'm not sure where the limit is. Right now I have 2 MP40s one on system with a MP10 on a different system with another MP10 on yet a different one. All systems running different schedules. Love it.

I think reeflink is a lot more staple than before now so it is a good investment is your tank is powered by Ecotech

Yeah i like it alot. Two radion and 3 ecotech powerheads. Works great. If my internet goes out i just unplug it and plug it back in and it reconnects.
