To spotted hawkfish or not...

I have a spotted hawkfish in quarantine. In the tank he will be going to is a cleaner shrimp and goby. Cleaner shrimp is large but will he and everyone else be ok?

Thanks.

I'm a huge fan of hawkish but I'd never mix them with shrimp. It's a case of when not if. You will get people tell you they have had them together but they are either lucky or haven't lost them yet.
hawks have a cheekiness about them and can be a pain sometimes but it's part of their charm. I wouldn't keep them with small fish that bully easily though.

+1 couldn't have said it better myself, esp when describing hawkfish personality. The shrimp and it cohabitating will be hit or miss.

My experience with an arc-eyed hawk and Falco's hawk were great, never aggressive towards anything including my shrimp and always people watchers. You could see their eyes following you from one side of the room to the next, and there is something very endearing about the way they hop across the rocks. That being said completely agree about it being a gamble with shrimp. My wife wants a flame hawk in the worst way but I have to keep reminding her how much she loves our cleaner shrimp and is she really willing to take the chance that it'll become a snack, the answer is always a resounding no.

I had 20 porcelain crabs before I put my flame hawk in.

Now I have 0.
