Algae clearing bugs???

Hello all. This week I discovered something really cool. I have a QT that is absent any fish and is basically functioning as a grow out tank for my sps right now. I always had algae growth in the QT especially on the PVC parts and back wall. I started to notice that without any predators the pod population was starting to EXPLODE. What was most interesting is that the back glass wall of algae was starting to disappear from the bottom On closer inspection I could see that at the edge of the algae there were thousands of pods!!!! Now, a few days later, the QT is completely clear off any surface algae (for lack of a better word). Some of my plugs have a bit of hair but the rest of the tank immaculate.
So just wanted to know if anybody else has experience with this type of reef bug. I'm sure this is probably old news to some but I just got so excited I had to post something
