Need help for building new aquascape!
Hi! New to Reef Central! I am upgrading from my 60 gallon to 100 gallon tank that will be SPS dominant. My question is, I was thinking of using Real Reef Rock to form my aquascape instead of using live rock for the main tank, so I can spend a lot of time perfecting the rock structure (As I can't build a live rock aquascape outside of the tank for very long!) But then I have an issue. I don't have any live rock, only dead rock, so would my biological filtration be non-existent? Am I able to just put some live rock in an area of my sump? Would really appreciate the help! I have done sooooo much reading on caring for SPS, but any further tips on filtration would be heavily appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Why can't you use what you have in your 60 for biological seeding? Yes you can put some LR in your sump, but you might want a piece or two in the display as well, at least to start it out.
