Baby bristle worms tend to look white IME. It could also be a peanut worm? Or umm I dunno.

Actually baby bristle worms are pinkish and have the bristles on them with a blackish line in them which is their intestines and other internal parts.
Not sure on the white ones, I'll see if I can find something on similar for you. How long are they? They're probably not something to worry about especially since you have some fish that love to eat them. As our tanks mature they provide a lot of different critters that feed our fish.

Do you have small feather dusters in the tank? If so, this is probably them looking for a better place to colonize--more appropriate flow characteristics.
By the way, if that is the surface of your water, you might want to increase your surface turbulence to break up that film and get it down the overflow. If you don't have a sump look for a HOB skimmer or filter with a surface skimming inlet. This is what I did on my first tank--a 55--a way's back.
