Cyano Issue - Chemiclean question

So I have chemiclean and I know it says to run an airstone when using it. I have a protein skimmer going which should provide a lot of oxygenation. Is that sufficient or should another airstone be added? I should note that the tank currently has no fish in it due to treatments going on, so even if oxygen drops I guess it wouldnt be too bad.

Chemiclean cause my protein skimmer to over flow EVERY time so I had mine off for the duration of the treatment. I didn't use any airstone and my fishes were fine throughout.
