Worst Luck With Fish Lately (Another Death)
Hi All,
Some of you may have seen my previous post about my Darwin clown getting sandwiched between the glass and a fish trap overnight. Now I've woken up to find my Orangemarked Goby is nowhere to be found. I believe it died of starvation. Last night, while doing tank maintenance, I noticed that it was extremely gaunt...never noticed this before which is strange. Anyway, I've been feeding Reef Frenzy for the past month or so and nothing else. I used to feed Mysis one day and Spirulina the next. Should I go back to a varied diet? I would like to get another one since they are such a good sand sifter and not as big as a DWG for example. Any other suggestions on what I should feed for these types of fish to survive? I'm on my way to the cottage so may not be able to respond right away. Thanks,

Forgot to mention that I've had it for months, so not a new addition. Surprised that I didn't notice the thinness until yesterday though.

It seems more like a disease than a lack of food, but yes a variety is important, was it eating the Reef Frenzy?

My DW goby went missing for a couple of days. Found him in the overflow. Could yours have jumped?

Found him! Still alive but very thin. Going back to rotating between mysis, spirulina... and reef frenzy.

I would worry about parasites if you see it eating and it's still so thin. You can easily worm your DT with PraziPro which gets rid of most parasites in fish and is 100% reef safe. I have started treating my tank every 4-6 months with Prazi just to make sure my fish don't have any parasites. I've noticed a big difference in my fish since I started doing this.
