Questions on my lighting
I have soft corals, 1 candy cane and 1 hard coral. Cant think of the name. 45 gallon 48x18x12 frag tank
Anyways I have a 120 watt fixture, this one to be exact... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0088...rb_top?ie=UTF8 I have the lighting turned all the way up on blue and white rite now... soft corals are thriving. My candy cane coral is metallic green... is this what its supposed to look like? Is this enough wattage for this size tank? Arent hard corals the ones that need more light than soft? The candy cane looks ok to me. They're not really a light demanding coral so if your GSP and zoanthids are doing ok at that level then this should do ok as well. You might want to keep your eye on that trigger fish though. These might be compatible with some corals, but not all.
I can't tell what that other coral is btw. Need a better picture. |

Questions on my lighting
I think Monti as well. See how the edges are white? That's new growth. Use that as an indication of how it's doing. I doubt a single like that will use up too much Calcium, but test every so often to make sure you keep it 380-420. Pretty nice placement for growing out, actually. May become really cool. To will grow plates that shade below it, so don't put frags under it.
But I think by the time that happens, the GSP will have taken over to the point you have to re-aquascape. That stuff will spread much faster than a Monti will grow.... |
