QT Tank Questions
So I did a bit of research on this already
So I got a Naso Tang yesterday and it's showing signs of ich today, not much just 3 spots, I want to take action immediately though. He is currently in my 90g (yes guys I know...but hes 1 inch) There is a yellow tang in there and a dragon goby, as well as a melanurus. The naso is the only one showing signs of ich 1. ) Do I move all fish into QT (10g) I dont think I should as 4 large fish in a 10g won't work..thoughts? 2.) i'm planning on treating with cupramine..since I added my tang into the tank last night do I move him today? I figure that will stress him out 3.)If I decide to turn to pull all fish out of DT I would have to leave the goby as hes a sand sifter, if the ich doesn't attach to any fish will they still die off? Please read everything Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated QT isn't setup yet, I am planning on pulling 10g out of DT, so I can start cupramine right away |

You are in a bit of a pickle. Even though you treat your fish in a QT (which by the way it is undersized), your display tank will still have Ich. The only way to eradicate that without affectings corals and inverts is to go fishless for 2-3 months and starve it out.
Unless you can maintain super optimal parameters in the 10g, I would instead just keep the fish's in the DT and help boost their immunity via nutritional supplements, garlic, vitamins etc. Ich is not the end of the world, many fish develop an immunity to them for months at a time. Keep them happy and healthy good luck.

It seems thats the best way to go. My Melanurus and Yellow Tang survived 6 months without bothering ich them, The problem right now is that the naso won't accept food. I will try nori, garlic, also gonna add selcon to see if that helps. Like I said the ich problem isn't too serious just one or two spots but this is nothing to play around with

I would get NLS ich shield food and feed to the fish in the DT. I would move the naso to QT and treat with copper or Paraguard. Feed the NLS ich shield for 3 weeks.

With a 10 gallon you might be better off with getting another 10 gallon and doing TTM.
