Metal halide help

I have a Giesmann fixture that I want to upgrade from a 150 watt to a 250 watt. however, the ballast that it came with has this adapter

And the ballast I want to use has this adapter:

The cable coming from the fixture has 5 wires and the cable coming from the ballast has 3.

Aren't the 250 bulbs wider than 150's? PS I have the same plugs as you.

Yes, I'm going to replace the clips too. It looks like one set of t5s run through cord. Very odd.

I replaced the ballast on my Infinity and the ballast are on the outer edge of the lamp fixture out side of the T-5's not within the MH ballast. There is a thread within the Giesemann Club were someone took lots of pictures and rewired his T-5 so they fire like a ATI Two on the outside two on the inside. instead of 2 on one side and 2 on the other.

You could do a search someone a while ago was selling the sockets for a Giesemann 250 I think they were never sold but I do not see him on this site anymore.

I maybe totally wrong here but your box that has that connection is a power supply/transformer that changes American Voltage to European? If your fixture is heavy, all your ballast are built in to it. Too bad you are not in Texas, Aquatek in Austin will work on these fixtures. Maybe contact Coralvue for assistance. Hopefully someone will chime in that knows more than me.

Any clue why my second set of t5s don't fire when the MH cord isn't plugged in?

Yeah, okay, it must be a transformer. Where can I buy one of those? I can't reach the one behind my tank now.
