DT/QT plan and 1st fish from old tank
I moved from AZ/OH and my tank (details below)is just about cycled
I had the local fish store in tucson babysit my 2 clowns (bullet hole and snowflake) that have been together since babies. my plan is once the DT is cycled and rested for 2 weeks I would use 5 gallons and a sponge filter to set up my QT (10g tank) My QT sits below my DT in a cabinet. QT will have the temp controlled by my apex the same as my DT tank. Current plan is to use an aqua clear HOB with media in mess bags and the seeded sponge filter, heater, PCV, light. Once the QT is up and running and settles for a week I will have them ship my clowns and then QT them. My plan is just to do a weekly water changes in the QT along with DT schedule. Do I do 10-20% weekly in the QT? Since my display is just about cycled I figured I could put in a CUC directly into the DT since it's currently empty. The fish and CUC would have their own QT for the same 12 weeks just in different tanks. does this sound like a viable plan to ensure I don't induce anything into the DT? but not wait 24 weeks or run 2 QT's?
