raw shrimp cycle
im starting my tank with all base rock. i treated the tank with dr tims bacteria and add a raw shrimp. its been 2 days and the tank is getting cloudy.... is this normal? how long do i leave the shrimp in the tank? when should i start seeing ammonia or nitrates?

Are you testing yet? Tank size?
The idea is to see ammonia rise to about 1-2ppm(pull the shrimp out here),then fall to zero over a few days to a few weeks.

34 gallon and no i havent started testing yet ill get to that tonight. any idea if its normal for the water to cloud?

Probably just seeing a bacterial bloom.
I would test every couple of days. Keep the shrimp in until the ammonia gets to 1-2ppm. If it gets much higher, it can actually slow down the cycle.

do you remember how long u left the shrimp in for? its been 3 days and im not reading any ammonia and the tank smells horrible
