Tired of the string problems

What is this? I have been blowing it off my corals but I am sure I have been having this problem ever since I set up my tank.

I am not carbon dosing. I researched vermetin snails and I do not see anything like them in my tank. I have been getting a sponge and turkey baster to dislodge the stings from the rock work. They then float around in the water column.

How long has the tank been setup?
When did you add the corals?
