light spectrum - coraline - 65k?

hi all


What's the lowest kelvin temp for coraline algae growth?

Sunlight is 5500K. Probably depends some on species (color).

From what ive experienced the purple corraline grows better with a light that is of higher kelvin(more blue) and the green corraline grows best at more yellow light,lower K.

Thanks for the input guys.

Years ago I a had a MH/actinic setup and it grew coraline much better than my current LED 12K/420 lighting.

I've also switched from Coral Pro to IO -and since the switch- everything is better. However the coraline is painfully slow. I thought about switching back to 6500k/actinic lighting.

The secret of growing coraline is to have no phosphates leaching from the rocks.For that you need a stable and higher PH and alk.
