Moving from a 55g to a 125g
Hey Everyone!
I am moving from a 9 month established 55g to a new 125g and I need to know what is the best way of moving into a larger tank. (I have already bought additional powerheads, sand, rocks, ect. for what is recommended) If anyone has any links, that would also be very helpful! Thanks! |

What I did(although on a smaller scale, 30 to 80) is to fill and cycle the new rock in the new tank. Then once the new tank was cycled, I moved everything over within a couple hours. Had no issues.
This is of course assuming you have the room for both tanks.

Keep your live stock cooler or tubs at temp and with flow. A great tip that helped buy me the was turning up the temp in the house to roughly 76 so the water temps didn't drop too much.
Best of luck and post the results.
