Need advice, protein skimmer outlet in sump

Should I direct PS out to refuge section or back into PS section of sump? I have enough space in sump to do either easily. I will be using two filter socks from DT out to sump protein skimmer area if that makes any difference on placement of PS exhaust. The socks will have to be submerged but I plan to barricade them from PS output churn as much as possible if I decide to output skimmer back into skimmer section. Any advice or suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
