Jebao DCT 15000 Plumbing Issue

I'm trying connect 1.5" spa flex to the DCT Jebao 15000, but am having problems finding the right PVC part for to screw on, and slip fit the 1.5" flex.

Anyone have a link or know what is needed? Please help!

I just took my pump to the hardware store and found the proper fitting. Obviously, you need one end to screw onto the pump and slip fitting on the other side.

This is what I used on mine but is only 1" http://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/435...e-adapter.html

but I only have a DCT4000, so I'm not sure what size the fitting would be.

You can find these at most big box stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, etc. It will be in the Schedule40 Fittings since that is what Spaflex adapts to fit.

Did you try a 1.5 NPT thread? Some people said you need the british threads to connect these pumps but I used an NPT and it worked fine. If you can work out the threads then you just need a 1.5 slip x thread and you can pvc glue the spa flex into the slip end (if that's how you want to do it, maybe you want to put other plumbing parts in between).

i had to use a 1-1/2 inch male threaded fitting to make one for my dcp pump.. it came with 3/4 1 and 1-1/4 fittings..

on a table saw i cut the threads off leaving about 1/8 inch of the hex shaped flange then on a belt sander i sanded the hex down to be round into a 1/16 inch lip so it looks just like the fittings that came with the pump.... The black nut that came with the pump slipped onto the fitting i made and screwed down tightly onto the rubber o ring and sealed nicely.. Then the spa flex glued into the newly made fitting..

I think you need a female 1-1/2 to 1-1/2 slip fitting and you will need to get a tube of teflon sealant.. i would not use TEFLON tape on these pumps..... the sealant in the tube is best and will not crack the pump...

I tried ordering a 1.5" NPT and it was too small. May have sent the wrong part?

The entire spa flex 1.5" fits inside the thread opening with about 1/8" to spare before reaching the smooth wall with the threads outside. This gives an idea about the size.

The tank is slowly filling. The pump does come with a nut and an O ring with an opening that fits the 1.5" flex snugly. I guess I'll just use that and make my own part out of it also. Didn't see anything close to fitting it at hardware stores.

i cut the threads off leaving like 1/16 of the hex on it.. then ground down the hex to fit inside the screw on nut creating a round lip for the nut to push the lip against the seal.

Here is the pump i have and you can see the slip fittings here... The largest is 1 1/4 too small for the spa flex.. So image the above with out the male threads and only a small lip on the hex.. works perfect

Lowe's in my area seems to have a better selection. OK, I'll give that a try.

I was about to break down and 3d print a solution.

The Lowes here is terrible for PVC fittings here. I was lucky and had a Menards and they have a huge selection of PVC fittings. In fact, I bought most my tank plumbing from Menards instead of ordering online. I just took my pump, small piece of spa-flex in and found the fittings. I supposed I was lucky.

Do you have a Home Depot ? They are usually pretty good also.

The threads on my DCS9000 output are metric, and I had a hard time finding a fitting, but I eventually did.

This is what I did as well. But I kind of wish I would have gone with a smaller pump. The 15000 pushes SO much water. I have mine on "2" and I'm running a couple reactors as well... on a 300 gal.

Quick design, printing in ABS plastic and done. Time to figure out a quick light mount scenario.

Should fit the adapter perfectly and easy internal slip. Transition cement for final glue.

basically get the thread to slip adapter, then cut off the thread part, and you end up with the same part in your 3d picture?

Every reefer should have one, goes hand in hand with every hobby. Learning curve at first is a little rough. Much like a reef tank becomes second nature soon enough.

I wouldn't be afraid of used ones either, everything is replaceable.
