Diamond & neon goby
Just a quick question that I wasn't able to find in the forums. Does anyone have a diamond and neon goby in the same tank or know if they are compatible? I have a 75gal tank I'm currently setting up. Just doing my research for now. Will have it set up with live rock, corals later. Thanks!

I've kept both in separate tanks, but they should get along just fine together. They have different niches--the Diamond likes to constantly shift sand and the Neon likes to hover mid-water, so they would mostly stay out of each other's hair.

I think the diamond might eat the neon.
I've seen goldhead sleeper (related to diamond) eat guppies. |

I have a pair of yellow headed sleeper gobies (Valenciennea strigata) in my tank which are in with a lot of small fish (including a crab eye Goby pair and a pair of black ray gobies both pairs are under 1" in length). They should be fine with neon gobies. I actually plan on putting a pair of Yellow cleaner gobies and a pair of diamond gobies in my tank with them as well and don't plan on having any issues.

Thanks fish freak, I think I'm just going to give it a try, just one yellow watchman with shrimp and one neon in a 75g. I'm hoping they will leave each other alone.

I have 4 neon goby's an engineering goby and a diamond watchman goby.
They all chill in the bottom left of my 180, the dibond and engineer share a home (weird I know) and the neon goby's are literally right beside them all the time. I've never seen any aggression from any of them. Granted these guys are fed well. |
