Arrow 75 gallon tank with hang on back filters advice plz

Hey guys... it's been awhile since I've posted on here. For the past 2 years I've had a 29 gallon tank using a hob filter and a fan for more water movement. Off the top of my head I forget what sizes and brands. Have a few of the easier to take care of mushrooms, polyps and soft corals as well as a clown fish, cardinal fish and a royal gramma basslet. My problem is that my tank at this point has been a never ending battle with green hair algae. It's gotten to the point where I need to pretty much empty out the whole tank and start over.

I just bought a new house and have room to go bigger with my tank. I heard a bigger tank can be easier to take care of. Don't know how true it is but I have a friend that will sell me his 75 gallon tank and stand. I have no experience with sump systems and would really like to stick with hang on back filters.... 1 big filter or two smaller filters? What products would you guys recommend going with for a 75 gallon tank with those fish and few corals in it, maybe adding one more fish. Also have hermit crabs and snails in my tank as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I know doing it the best way would be a sump filtered set up but I'm trying to do it this way hopefully as best as possible. Thanks for any input you can give!

I had great luck with a HOB filter system. No skimmer either. One reason you might want two smaller units is incase the pump burns out on one of them. Otherwise I'd go for one large one.

What size tank was yours in? What brand and size filter were you using?

I would throw a aquamaxx on with powerheads and a good amount of live rock.

I have to agree with keelo go with the sump it makes everything look cleaner. I had a 75 with out a sump then I added one and was much nicer! All you seen was two powerheads and the small return.
