Phosgaurd usage?

I put Phosgaurd in my 28 gallon Red Sea reefer 2 days ago and it has brought the phosphates down from 0.43 to 0.27. The coral have not showed any bad reaction but I have heard that Phosgaurd it very aggressive and should be used with caution. Should I keep it in for the full four days or just take it out tomorrow? I just don't want to strip the water too quickly and shock the coral. Let me know if you have any experiences with this.

I just broke down my 66g reef tank, prior to that I was battling phos issues. GFO wasn't working for me so I gave this stuff a shot. It is in fact very aggressive!! The first week, I added like 2/3 recommended dosage and it took my phos from 0.25 down to 0.1 within one week. The second week I added like 1/2 figuring it would end up at .03 or. close. Way wrong!! They ended up at 0, I ran it 4 days, then I gave it a 3 day break, then started the following week again 4 days. Next time I'll start with like 1/3, one thing for sure though, works very well if your careful

So do you think I could take it out tomorrow and put it back in later to make a more gradual removal of the phosphate? Btw did your coral react negatively to it?

I don't see why not, after all its purpose is to strip phos. I'd say use 50% of recommended max!! As far as my coral went, I did not have any sticks, all softies mainly zoas, acans, chalices, etc. I had no mortalities, some looked bothered a bit bit nothing a bit of reef roids couldn't fix

I've been using it at full usage and it brings the phosphate right down. The only problem is it seems to exhaust itself every week.

What are your levels to begin with? Do you have SPS?

Yea I think I'll just take it out tonight to be safe. After that I think I'll just use gfo or something safer/less aggressive.

My levels can rise over 1.0 ppm and using this product it takes it down to .02 , I don't know if it goes lower. I test after a week and the levels are anywhere from .06 to close to 1.0 ppm so I change it again.
After this runs out I'm going back to GFO. Yes I have SPS but just frags
