Frag / Growout Tank

Thinking of starting a little growout and frag tank to help pay for the hobby. Something simple, probably mainly acros and what not.

What I was thinking was having a staggered 3-tank system.

Using a 20-30 Gallon Tank as the main with just egg crate and powerheads which overflows into a 10-15 Gallon Tank full of live rock and a powerhead or two, then overflows into a Sump with just the Skimmer, a Reactor or fuge, and the return pump.

Debating on adding Chinese boxes for LED's or just doing the SunBlast T5 fixture to keep costs down.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

can you plumb it into the main system so that you don't have to change water in multiple tanks? Also, I'd try to keep lighting the same as your DT so that the Acros don't have to adjust to the lighting.

All three tanks would be plumbed together, the display frag tank - rock tank - Sump.

And I was thinking that as well. Just looking at other options opposed to spending more $$$ on another Hydra 26.

Sorry just re read the post. Shouldn't work and type 😂

I cannot plumb the system into my main system. If I could I would!
