120 gal skimmer suggestions

I am setting up a 120 and was looking for some advice on skimmer options, the main thing is quality and noise.

The Vertex Omega 150 at Bulk Reef supply. $399. Had mine for a year and half and it works great. Easy to tune, easy to clean.

I run an AquaMaxxCO-2 on my 120 (145 gallon true water volume), the run very quiet and skim very well.

It really is a good time to be in the hobby, there are several nice skimmers available. I would be sure to get one that has a high quality pump.

I recently bought a new skimmer for my 135g.
Reef Octopus Classic 200-INT

I don't even know it's running, unless I literally look right at it. Very quiet.
I am highly impressed with it!

I have this on my 110 gallon (135 true water volume, including sump) and wish I would have gotten a slightly bigger skimmer. I skim a bit wet and I find that it fills up too quickly for my tastes.

Aquamaxx ConeS Q2 on my 120

And is on sale right now at Marine Depot

A storage container for your skimmate is a nice addition as well.

Does an aquamaxx take a standard pump?
