What submersible pump will do...
I need to find a large enough submersible pump to do approximately 20' of head at 600-900 gph. This is for a 170 reef. The sump we have now is not drilled for an external pump and we are putting it in the basement. I haven't found a submersible pump that will do this for me. Does anyone know of one?

At 20 ft the only internal pump i know of is the Abyzz. But you will have to take out a 2nd mortgage! Absolutely amazing pumps, I think with a lifetime warranty, but they are expensive. I would just drill the sump. Matter of fact, i did on my setup. I won a Vertex iSupra sump (around $2k value) so i was very hesitant to drill it, but in the end it worked out great and gave me many options for my basement sump.

I am not sure if it is tempered glass. I bought a Aqueon aquarium and put in my own baffles.
Plus, I do not have the correct drill bit (or whatever) to drill this myself. |
