Flooring
Not quite sure where to put this:
I'm under contract on a new construction townhouse. Does anyone know what happens to laminate flooring if it gets wet? I'm at the design stage right now so I haven't set the flooring in stone (haha) yet.

As long as u are just talking about small spills on the surface of the laminate it should be ok, but I would wipe it up as soon as possible & not let it sit. If it gets water underneath or if it's not fitting tight in the joints then it will ruin it. Pretty much if any water gets anywhere but on the surface it will ruin it. Standing water on the surface will cause problems to because it will seap through the seams eventually & it will swell up and start coming apart.
But yeah, if someone was building a fish room then laminate would be the last thing u would want to install because they have a bunch of better options |
