How long to let a small amount of silicone dry

Hi, I'm setting up an Auto Top Off system. I'm using a 5 Gallon bucket for the reservoir.
I drilled a hole in the bottom of it and stuck the tubing about 2" in and have made it water tight with silicone, and it's been curing for about 2 days now.
I can kind of make out a hardly noticeable vinegar smell if I stick my head in the bucket. So should I let it dry for the full 2 weeks or is it fine to use now?

Thanks,
Ethan

It's about 1/8" thick at the thickest points.

It's under pretty low pressure.

when you fill the bucket up with water the bucket being plastic will bow out a bit. I think over time it will loosen the silicone and water will get through. possibly if you used ALOT of silicone it may hold up fine.

Ok.

What should I use to glue it with?

not sure any glue really would be the answer, just put a ton of silicone on it, I would think if you could find some kind of rubber gasket that would work best. I actually use a 10 gallon Rubbermaid container for my ATO, I just cut a hole in the top and ran the line out the top lid. That's also a suggestion.

Ok, thanks.

I'll put a BUNCH more silicone on the bucket today.

This is the ATO system I have. So I think it would be really difficult to set up a siphon with it.

I have a pump in the bucket that pushes the water out into the sump, no siphon or are you trying to run a siphon?

Ok I see.

I would run a siphon but it is next to imposable with this ATO system.
