Pump Speed for MP40s?
Ive been searching for the best mode to run my pumps and have found that most like to run the Reefcrest mode, but have not found any info on the speed that everyone runs their pumps at.
I have a 6' 180 (mixed reef) with an MP40QD on one side and a MP40WES on the opposite. Any recomendations as to what speed to run them? Thanks |

I have two MP40's on a 6' 120 gallon. I use various modes programmed via an Apex, but most of the day they shuffle through and max out around 40-50%.
Flow rate on each MP40 is roughly 4000 gph so at a max of 50% it's more than enough flow. |

I think the simple answer is that it varies tank to tank. If you have sps, you want higher flow. On my 80g sps tank, I run two at 80% Reefcrest Anti-Sync. The flow is indirect so corals don't get a direct blast.

I have two, both at 60%, reefcrest on one and anti sync on the other. 2hrs of NTM 80% at night.
