Frag shipping costs

Most businesses and hobbyists tend to quote around $40-50 flat rate for shipping overnight Fedex. Though whenever I get overnight quotes from Fedex, the price is usually $60-80. Are people just eating up the extra costs, or is there a cheaper way to go about this that I'm missing?

Both UPS and the Postal service do overnight shipping as well. Personally, I never use FedEx unless I absolutely have to. Sometimes there's different time guarantees affecting the price as well (Like opting for early AM delivery, etc.)

Repeat/heavy customers (of the shipping company) also get better rates.
