Will Hydroplanet T5 lighting work.....?
Hi,
Will Hydroplanet 2' 4 lamp t5 lighting work for a 24 gallon nano reef tank? Just started this hobby and already have spent a lot of $$ and i'm trying to budget myself. Could this fixture be used with ATI bulbs? Here is a link...... https://www.amazon.com/Hydroplanet-F...PTY?th=1&psc=1 Thank you in advance! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |

yes and yes...
That fixture with ATI bulbs can certainly be used.. The only "real" difference is in the ballasts (programmable start vs rapid start).. Then you have potential differences in reflector "reflectivity", fan cooling and being aluminum vs steel,etc.. And some of the ATI's have built in timers/dimmable..

Programmable start vs rapid start? Will the built in timers effect the way it works?

In general though the t5 fixture you posted will work just fine.. It just doesn't have the nicer ballast that a more expensive fixture will have and instead will have a rapid start ballast.. And there is no reason that a built in timer is better than one thats not built in other than simplicity/less wires,etc..
