Could this be poisonous?

My niece had sharpie highlighted all over her hands and as soon as I look over she's got her hands in my (saltwater) fish tank. And I saw it mixing in.

Not sure but might as well not take chances and start doing water changes.

Activated carbon is good to have in these situations too.

poisonous, more likely a question of toxicity. You shoukd be able too look up a MSDS (material safety data sheet) on it and just see what it says about ingestion to give thou a clue as to how bad it may or may not be... granted this info is for human which id's totally different not to mention scale but still it mau simply state its non toxic or that it is....

Keep PolyFilter pad and carbon handy for any similar emergency.
