TTM only?
If I only do TTM for new fish and treat with PaziPro on the 2nd and 3rd transfers, what would be gained for additional QT time? What would take more than 2 weeks to present?

I do pretty much exactly what you are suggesting. TTM, prazipro, then observe for a few weeks. Then into the DT they go. Never had an issue going that route.
I haven't used copper or formalin in over 20 years. IMHO, it's just too difficult to keep therapeutic levels of copper in a QT due to the many water changes required. (don't really care for Prime or Amquel either - they strike me as nothing more than bandaids) If I had to, I would use Chloroquinine Phoshate instead. hth

I can't answer your initial question, but I believe a 6 day gap for PraziPro is better than a 3 day gap so you are probably better off dosing the 1st/3rd or 2nd/4th transfers instead of the 2nd and 3rd. You need to make sure to give enough time for all the eggs to hatch so the PraziPro can kill them.

On the few times I do ttm I will use general cure after the ttm process during the observation time for flukes and internal parasites
Typically I do formalin dip first(50mins) never had a problem 4 days of furan2 treatment 30 days of coppersafe General cure in water after a week or so General cure in food throughout whole treatment I watch ammonia carefully. Copper is very easy to keep at levels as long as no water changes are made. If you preform WC then just take out a measured amount each time and add back the correct copper amount. 100g QT-30g WC. Add 30g back with amount of copper for 30g. If u have an ATO then copper stays constant always |

Does formalin take care of brook or velvet?

During the 2 weeks you can observe.
I did my first TTM and I must have cross contaminated something. 2 days before I was to release the powder blue into the DT it broke with ich. Since this incident I have moved to 4 weeks of active medication (copper or CP) then 2 weeks of observation. Do not rush the observation window it can save your DT. Nothing good comes from rushing in this hobby. |

Agreed with above. I went through TTM and then into my tank once. The ensuing death knoll from velvet that ravaged my tank has taught me to observe for a while.
Not to mention the time gives me opportunity for fish to destress from the multiple moves in TTM, learn to recognize me a bit more, eat and fatten up, and a general watch for anthing else to sprout up that needs treated.

TTM takes care of ich, but other issues can be suppressed by hyposalinity and or copper in the LFS water system.
I do TTM/Prazipro, then 2 weeks QT minimum. If all is well, the fish heads to the DT. If any issues arise, I treat, then start a 4 week clock after the treatment is successful.
