Reefbreeders LED T5 retro kit
I have the Reefbreeders Photon 48" V2's and want to get a retro kit for it to have 1 T5 light on each side of my led light. I do not have a canopy but the LED light does have rails to connect stuff to it. I want it to look as clean as possible.
Does anyone know of a retro kit that goes well with this LED light? Something that can be easily retrofitted to my Photons. If so can you lead me in the right direction. Also if i were to add 2 T5 Bulbs what kind should they be? |

If I was doing it I'd probably use
Sunblaster 904298 and cobble up some sort of bracket.. Not sure if there is anything off the shelf.. kind of doubt it.. with ATI bulbs of course.. which bulb depends on what you want out of it visually.. I would probably use coral+ bulbs as I like a more full spectrum but a blue + if you want to increase the "blue" factor..

There are no single tube off the shelf that I know of. Twin bulb there is a geismann option. Seem to have good reflectors and ballasts in them

Look at Reef Breeders sponsor forum here at RC. There is a new led strip called a LumenBar that they are selling and it has hangers that are made specifically for working with the Photon V2.
I tried a t5 and wasn't happy at all with the look. I even tried 4 different bulbs. Then I tried 2 led strips from 21ledusa, a white & blue at the front of the tank and an all blue at the back of the tank. I love the look, but the 21ledusa strips do run more than warm so I'd rather try a different strip. I'm going to get one of the Reef Breeders LumenBars (currently they only have blue) and buy some extra mounting brackets.
