Female maroon clownfish stripes darkening and lightning.
I came home today to see that my female maroon clownfishs stripes are darkening and lightening within a blink of an eye. She seems very aggravated as well chasing fish around the tank a little more than usual. Is the color change in the stripes common because I've never seen this before and I've had her for almost 4 years? Thanks.

She is also spawning regularly, but like I said I've never seen this before and I've watched them spawn.

Have you found out anything about this?
I recently bought two lightning maroons and the female decided to take a liking to one of the anemones in the tank. Now when she is in the anemone her white stripes are turning dark. It’s crazy! When she swims out her stripes turn white again. Anyway, any info would be interesting. I’m not worried. Just curious. Thanks! |

Here is a better pic, her white stripes look purple. They change from purple to white within seconds of her leaving or entering the anemone.

My mochas do the same, maybe its due to the sting from the anemone or do the produce a thicker coating when in the anemone? as they leave the anemone it gets lighter.
