Is this a dead snail out of its shell?
i noticed an upside down snail yesterday, so i flipped him over, today i see this...
is it dead and out of its shell? i should remove it asap right?

Try touching it to see if it moves, but yes I'd take it out before it stinks up your tank.

definitely was a dead snail. But if a dying/dead snail causes a bunch of problems in your tank, the underlying problem is much more than the dead snail. Any but probably the tiniest of tanks should not be affected at all by that snail dying.

You shouldn't see any problems unless there is a problem that killed the snail in the first place. When I say stink up your tank I mean dead snails stink bad.
