What light for Fusion Nano 20??
I'm thinking about starting a IM Fusion Nano 20.
But what lights can you guys suggest for it?? I've look at: Coral Box Aqua Nano LED http://www.fish-street.com/coral_box_aqua_nano_led AI Prime HD https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/prime...umination.html AI Hydra 26 HD https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/hydra...umination.html The tank will not contain SPS, so there is no need for a lot of light. Any input on the light?? |

All three options will work to some degree or another, but what features do you want in the light?
The AI fixtures are relatively feature-rich, but also significantly more expensive than the Coral Box light, which is sold by multiple vendors under various names. The Nano would probably be enough for most low to medium light corals, but might be pushing the limits of spread across the 24" width of the aquarium. The AI Hydra would be more than enough for the size aquarium you have, but if you want more distributed light across the full width of the aquarium, you might consider a pair of the Prime's (for a slightly higher cost) as you could space them out a bit. A single Prime would not be my choice for that aquarium unless you plan on a single rock island in the very middle of it.

I am running three of the fusion nano tanks (10, 20 and 25L) and have put the Kessil A80 on all three (one is a planted tank). No SPS, so they appear to be more than sufficient. The very ends of the 20 and 20L tanks are bit dim, but they are in bedroom so reducing light spill is important.

I was looking at the AI prime or the reefbreeders "Nano-light plus" (another option) below for a new 28g cube I am setting up:
https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/nano-lite/ Both appeal to me since they have mobile controller apps standard, which put them at the top of being easy to setup and control. I have had good service from reefbreeders (and AI/Ecotech as well). Have not dug into which had the best features or light (and made a decisions), but seem comparable. I would think both would be OK in a tank not planning SPS, the edges will be noticeable darker but still able to have low light corals.

@zooman72
I just need the best light to the cheapest price I have seen photos of the Prime HD on 24" tanks. I can accept the lower amount of lights in sides of the tank (for now). @ca1ore Do you keep corals in the sides of the tank?? @HBtank I've seen that lamp before http://www.fish-street.com/coral-box...-plus-lighting Which one did you buy?? |

The Prime would be one of the top picks. But the price in Denmark/Europe is almost 500$
The Everglow / Photon V2 is priced at 360 - is the Prime worth the price difference?? https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/photon-16-v2/ https://www.marinefarm.co.uk/evergro...rine-led-light |

That's the same light. Og then there were a few things that they improved in the new lamp - The lamp is more slim. Went from 4 to 2.5 cm in height and from 26 to 21 cm in width. - Improved remote controller with LCD display - Osram, CREE and SemiLED in the new. BridgeLuxLED's in the old. - More "modern" design. It would be possible to safe 80£ on the Ocean Revive lamp compared to the Photon V2 lamp. A lot of money, but I think that the LED's themself is worth the pricedifference. |
