Hi, quick tank setup question
Just getting back into the hobby with a 150 gallon and had 2 quick questions.
1) After getting the tank on the stand I noticed saw dust and a very small wood chip (talking .3 in long very thin shaving) under the glass (glass is quarter inch). Should I drag everything apart to clean or move on? 2) Some silicone shaved off when we slid the tank onto the stand. Normal? Pretty sure its just excess that was used to glue the glass together as i can feel it all around the tank, but figured I'd ask if anyone else ever had this happen. Thanks in advance! |

1)Can't see how its creating anything more than an aesthetic issue.. If its going to bug you clean/remove it.. If its going to get covered with sand and you will never see it again and its not going to bug you then leave it if you want..
2)could be just fine.. Or its not and the tank splits open and costs you thousands of dollars in water damage.. as we have no idea how much or where it came off or any other details we just pull a total guess out our butts Have fun.. Enjoy..

1) was asking due to concerns I recently read about pressure points, never considered this before that. I was 90% sure something so minor was fine, the 10% made me ask.
2) Yeah I catch your drift. The silicone came off in fine grains when we slid it on. More or less I was asking if anyone else had ever experienced this. Not sure how you place a 300 lb tank without a little sliding. Care to rate the confidence you have in answers you pull out ☺? |

Are you saying you have a rimless tank sitting directly on a wood stand?
